This month, we celebrate Lizbeth Soto, an inspiring graduate of our Path to Citizenship program, now called Ascend, who recently became a U.S. citizen. Originally from El Salvador, Lizbeth worked tirelessly while attending our in-person citizenship preparation classes at Jubilee Community Center, overcoming challenges and building confidence with the support of our caring teachers and team. Reflecting on her experience, she shared how the program made her feel valued and prepared, unlike others she had tried before. Her success is a testament to the power of education and community. Every month, we highlight the inspiring journey of individuals making a difference in our community. This month, we proudly celebrate Lizbeth Soto, who recently achieved her dream of becoming a U.S. citizen through our Path to Citizenship program, now called Ascend.

Lizbeth, originally from El Salvador, worked tirelessly while attending our citizenship preparation classes at Jubilee Community Center. Despite juggling work and family responsibilities, she showed unwavering dedication to her studies. Her perseverance paid off when she passed her naturalization interview and proudly took the oath as a new U.S. citizen.

Reflecting on her experience, Maria shared, “I had tried other ways of preparing for the citizenship test, but I always felt uneasy with the other programs. Here, I felt like they really cared. The teachers and everyone involved helped me feel confident about the process. Thanks to them, I finally achieved my dream.”

Lizbeth’s story is a testament to the power of education, support, and community. Her journey reminds us that with the right guidance and a strong network of encouragement, anything is possible.

Our citizenship preparation classes are held in person at Jubilee Community Center, 917 Bank Street, Dallas, every Tuesday and Thursday at 7:00 PM. We are also considering launching an online program to reach even more aspiring citizens. For more information, please email info@sraministries.org.
